Doug
Smith is
an advocate, public speaker, and Peer Mentor in the
Real Life Choices self-direction initiative in New
Jersey. Through his teen years and into early adulthood,
Doug lived in "programs". In his mid twenties
he decided he wanted to make a change and he engaged
the supports and services of Neighbours Inc. to help
him move into his own place, and get established in
his own community.
Doug
is a friend, family member, and godfather to the daughter
of a close friend. As Doug continues to build his own
life, he has a strong passion and commitment to help
other people
"do it their own way". |
