At
Neighbours Inc., the people we work for are not "clients",
they are Employers! Everyone who receives a
pay check from Neighbours Inc.works for the employer. Makes sense,
right?
That
is why it is so important for us to listen to what the people
we support have to say.
Most
off the people we support have "Personal Assistants"
to support them with daily life. Some people need an assistant
for a few hours a week. Others need support around the clock, every
day.
Advisors work
with the people we support and their Support
Circle to determine what kind of support that will
be needed.
Then
the Advisors, with the support of Neighbours Inc Management Team.,
help people recruit and hire their own Personal Assistant staff.
When someone is hired, it is made very clear just who the boss
is.
It
is a big job to be an employer so Neighbours Inc. Advisors and
Management Team support people with all of the issues that come
with being an employer.Things like:
- scheduling
- conflict
resolution
- health
and safety isssues
- back up
plans
- communication
issues
- training
Our
Finance team takes care of all of the accounting needs that go
with employing staff.
And
when necessary, we support people through the process of firing
staff.
We
are always working to find ways that the people we support can
remain in charge of their life. |
