What is an Independent Support Broker?

An Independent Support Broker works for a person with a disability and not for an agency. A Broker is hired and can be fired by the individual seeking support.

Creating a person centered plan, developing a circle of support, connecting to community resources and developing a budget are some of the things that a Broker can do with the person. In essence, a broker is available to walk with a person on their journey. A Broker can do a lot or a little depending on what a person wants and what is agreed upon in their contract.
